PowerStar® 1100 Densifying Treatment.
For concrete and terrazzo.
Raw or polished concrete is very porous and brittle.
Even after grinding and polishing operations, tiny pores in the material can trap
dirt and allow water to penetrate the surface.
PowerStar® 1100 Densifying Treatment is made of silica compounds
that molecularly change the properties of concrete making the material harder and
less porous. Harder concrete lasts longer and eliminates dusting effects from
foot and vehicle traffic. Decreasing the porosity of concrete means it absorbs
less water, resists permanent staining and provides a durable, low maintenance surface.

Left untreated, a concrete surface can quickly deteriorate. Contaminants absorbed into the material may be difficult to remove, cause permanent staining and cause pieces to break away from the surface. This event, commonly called “dusting”, creates air-borne particulates which may reduce the slip resistance and aesthetic appearance of the concrete.

Untreated concrete. PowerStar 1100 is made with SiO2 - Amorphous Silica. The SiO2 molecules are smaller than Sodium, Potassium and Lithium (active chemicals in lower performing densifying treatments). The small molecules along with their lack of a crystalline structure allows the chemical to penetrate deep into the material and harden the floor from deep inside the material. Even more, this “smart” chemical is breathable preventing possible damage from interior or under slab water moisture. Application
