PURCHASING AGENT - Machines

Job Summary:

The Machine Purchasing Agent is responsible for coordinating all activities associated with procurement of materials, supplies, and finished goods for the machine business. Requirements include managing purchase orders to support production and sales requirements without creating excessive inventory levels in the most cost effective manner possible.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the Machine Purchasing Agent position is to support the company by managing purchased goods for the machine business. Specifically, this role must form a strong, supportive relationship with production, inventory, sales, and engineering.

Essential Functions:

• Schedule and purchase machine production parts and supplies to support production requirements.
• Schedule and purchase finished goods, accessories, and replacement parts to support sales requirements.
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from Engineering department.
• Create, read, and utilize reports with operating system to determine order schedule and quantity.
• Initiate and maintain purchasing related fields in operating system.
• Generate non-standard orders with approved requisitions.
• Provide both lead and support role with cost down sourcing and negotiation projects.
• Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
• Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
• Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

Associate Customer Service Representative

Job Summary:

An in-house training position, learning all aspects of the Customer Service function within the APEC domestic business. Interacting with customers; customers meaning outside sales associates, distributors and individuals outside and inside the company, to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests about products and services.

Purpose of the role:

It is intended that a positive and successful experience in this role will lead towards an entry-level position within the domestic sales organization. The proposed sales position would be a hybrid role of inside sales supporting key customers via phone and Internet as well as a local outside sales role supporting and building business within the NC and VA regions.

• Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
